The positive aspects of ADHD in a relationship

ADHD is mostly viewed from a negative angle, i.e. impulsivity / hyperactivity and concentration deficit. However, there are also upsides to ADHD, which may contribute to a nice and good relationship. It is only a matter of discovering those qualities and paying them some attention. As a result, you will stop concentrating too much on the sometimes annoying ADHD typicalities. In a relationship, when focusing on the qualities linked to ADHD, chances are that there will be no problems at all between the partners.

The qualities below are typical of ADHDers:

• Creativity: An ADHDer is full of creative ideas. He or she has a talent for rendering ideas in an original and unique way. In case of problems, he can come up with solutions no one else would ever think of. Due to his swift thinking, he can also provide a solution much faster than others.

• Loyalty: ADHDers are very loyal. They would do anything to fit into a group and to make sure everyone sticks together. Once you have gained their friendship, they will do anything for you. Moreover, they are not resentful, and forgive and forget easily. They are quickly willing to forgive others after they have been wronged.

• Empathy: ADHDers have a warm heart. They quickly sense someone else’s needs and are immediately willing to help. So to speak, they would give away their shirt without even stopping to think. They give in a loving way, without expecting anyting in return.

• Strong intuition: They have a natural sixth sense. They sense things very well and immediately grasp what another person is feeling and thinking. They are very intuitive and see through things very quickly.

• Having fun: With an ADHDer you will never get bored. They have a great sense of humour and can portray things in a light-hearted manner. They always come up with new ideas and keep wanting to discover new worlds. They can very easily reduce tension through their sense of humour.
